We admit: we love lists. Making them, reading them, crossing items off of them, you know the drill. It brings some sort of order to our crazy schedule. Now before you start thinking we’re the super organized type, we’re not talking about anything formal... just scribbles here and there, usually scattered and illegible, but meaningful nonetheless. So, in that spirit, we’re offering you this week’s list of things that we (and you too!) must find time to do.
This Week’s Laundry List:
(after the jump)
Acorn
We can’t wait to try Acorn, a new casual eatery at 539 N.W. 13th Ave. in the Pearl. This tiny new sandwich shop is apparently owned by the folks behind Half & Half. A recent article by the Daily Vanguard kick-started our craving for a good BLT.
The Armory
Make it to a PCS show at the Armory, finally! We keep saying we’ll go, yet haven’t gotten around to it yet. And several productions have already come and gone. A special late night show called “The Thugs” is playing the next few weekends; this time we’re buying a ticket.
V-Day Reservations
We’re tempted to stay in on Feb. 14. Waiting for a table and dealing with crowds just isn’t our thing. Several Pearl District restaurants, however, are offering delectable V-Day menus that might be too good to pass up. Like Fenouil, which will be serving whole Maine lobster. Or Fratelli, which is serving an aphrodisiac menu. In the event that we stay home, we’ll no doubt stop by Via Delizia for a special dessert to-go.
Sur La Table
We love this place. Kitchen gadgets galore… Lately, though, we’ve spent more time buying kitchen supplies than actually cooking, so it’s time for a brush-up on our culinary skills. “Secrets of Oaxacan Cooking,” anyone? Ok, maybe not that one. But they’ve got some amazing upcoming classes that do sound scrumptious. Time to sign-up!
